At the moment its just speculation but Sony might just enter the netbook market. All will be unveiled on the 9th of January. Lets hope “the revolutionary new VAIO” is something more than just another netbook.

Microsoft Suggests Avoiding IE For Now

Guardian.co.uk is reporting on Microsoft’s humiliating decision to recommend that its customers forgo the use of Microsoft’s own Internet Explorer product. They are instead suggesting that Windows users make use of a more secure browser such as Firefox or Opera until they are able to patch the latest serious vulnerability in IE.

From the article:

The flaw in IE allows criminals to gain control of computers that have visited a website infected with malicious code designed to exploit it. While restricting web surfing to trusted sites should reduce the risk of infection, the malicious code can be injected into any website. Users do not have to click or download anything to become infected, merely visiting an infected website is sufficient.

AVG virus definition update cripples Windows PC’s

A recent update in the virus definitions of AVG causes a critical file, user32.dll, to be detected as a virus. As a result, the affected computers running Windows XP keep rebooting right before the log-on screen appears.

AVG recommends affected users to boot into Safe Mode, restore the user32.dll file from the Windows CD, or from a website and temporarily remove AVG until an update addresses the issue.

New Alan Wake Cinematic Trailer

Yeah, you read that right, new Alan Wake stuff here. I mean, its only been like two years, so not a big deal, but there is a new trailer, or preview, i’m not sure what it would be at this point. teaser? Anyways, Remedy has also released some new gameplay details as well.

Light will play a very big part in the world around Alan. As enemies grow stronger in the darkness and in a world where light will gradually diminish through the coarse of the game. Of coarse, there is the crazy story and story elements i’m sure most of us are familiar with.

Little Big Planet Servers Online

Well, the Little Big Planet servers are up and running but here in the UK we have no game to play! :( due out next week! The severs will also include all levels created during the beta phase. Good news for USA users though!
