1.07 patch adds some new functionality that users should find very handy. The ability to search for levels using names or tags is the biggest addition, however my favourite is the ability to view highest rated, most hearted, newest and the busiest levels, which gives you a nice overview of whats hot or not, rather than wasting time going through random levels.

There’s also a new shop that shows all available content for download, read on for more details on that.

Well, the Little Big Planet servers are up and running but here in the UK we have no game to play! :( due out next week! The severs will also include all levels created during the beta phase. Good news for USA users though!

LittleBigPlanet to lack online create mode on release

Well, what a disappointment! The LittleBigPlanet create mode which allows up to four users to create at the same time will only be available in off-line mode, with the online version becoming available via a patch sometime in the future.

I’ve already had a chance to play the game at the LittleBigPlanet store in Manchester UK, which only made me want it more!!! can’t wait for the release!!!!

The ability to create with your friends online will come as part of the first major update after the game is released,” Sam wrote. “Offline creating with up to 4 people on one PlayStation 3 however is available right from the get go.”

LittleBigPlanet release dates brought forward

LittleBigPlanet release date has been brought forward to Oct 24th in UK and 21st in US, however there are no indications if the rest of Europe will see a change of date.

That’s just a month or so away, hopefully Play.com will delivery my order in-time for the weekend.

Sony have posted some entries they’ve received so far for the Little Big Planet contest. They look pretty decent, got me wondering if there’s any design entry that looks like the terminator!

Little Big Planet contest

For those with some imagination, Sony have started a contest for Little Big Planet. To enter you need to design an outfit for a SackBoy or SackGirl, the winner will have their design listed for download on the Playstation store. End date September 30th 2008 at 11:59 PST.

Shame, its only available to those living in the US!

Little Big Planet limited beta this month

Little big planet for the playstation 3, I’ve been eagerly awaiting its release since the announcement was first made. For those who can’t wait it looks like there will be a beta this month however no signs as to when. Also it looks like there will be no demo, well not before the release anyway.
