Firmware updates for Late 2008 Macbooks released

Apple has released 2 firmware updates for the late 2008 models of the Macbook, Macbook Pro and Macbook Air. The 1st update is for the EFI and the 2nd update for the SMC (you need to run the Software Updater again after the 1st update).

Note: When the Macbook reboots during the EFI update, you could hear a loud beep. This is normal behaviour.

Apple release update for glass Trackpad Macbooks

Apple has released a firmware update for the glass Trackpad on the new generation Macbook and Macbook Pro. Many users had reported an issue where the Trackpad didn’t recognize the input regularly.

The update can be installed through Software Update, and the actual installation of the firmware update requires the Macbook to be connected to AC power.

iPhone 2.1 firmware out now

Just on Tuesday, Apple announced the latest firmware update version 2.1 and now its out. Looks like the backup procedure has be improved, hurray! hopefully I won’t have to wait an hour or so for my backups to complete.

Dramatically reduced time to backup to iTunes
Improved email reliability, notably fetching email from POP and Exchange accounts

Nokia N95 8GB gets firmware update v30

After the recent update for Nokia 95 classic (Friday), they’ve released version 30 for the Nokia N95 8GB. I’m not sure why I dismissed the Nokia N95 before buying the iPhone, seems to be getting decent updates. Hmm, I think if there was no such thing as the iPhone I would of bought it.
