As at the moment it takes ages!!! I think it should only backup the application data and not the actual application, we can download the app anytime we want, so no need backing up.

The update is meant to include new GPS-related functionality (iPhone 3G) for tracking speed and direction while excluding some features for developers. (oh and not forgetting iTunes 8 is getting an update is well.)
