Packard Bell have followed the latest trend and have announced their the “dot” netbook. It features a Atom processor, 1 GB if RAM, 160GB HD space, web cam, 3g module and a 6-cell battery for improved battery life. Its priced at £315 and due for release in November this year! Its been a while since I’ve heard the name “Packard Bell”, whatever happened to them?

Apparently, they about died around 2000, so they pulled out of the US market, or NEC did. Then earlier this year, the guy who owns eMachines and a lot of Gateway shares bought the company from NEC. On a final note, i think Packard Bell makes a few electronic things in Europe also.
