The LHC for Internet Advancement?

The Large Hadron Collider, LHC for short, is a giant particle acceleration, and they have made some pretty exciting discoveries. Apparently, they have made a world wide computing grid which in theory would allow internet speeds of 1 gigabit per second. The LHC is currently processing the information, pretty exciting stuff.

I visited CERN while I was on holiday in Switzerland last year. Although I didn’t manage to book a tour around early enough the museum there was very interesting.
